Thank you for your interest in commemorative volunteering in memory of those who were killed in the October 27, 2018 synagogue shooting. In this commemorative service event we will be creating needle-felted hearts to either decorate the Oct. 27th commemoration ceremony or to deliver to friends, family, loves ones, neighbors or strangers as an act of random kindness and care.
This commemorative event will be facilitated by Barbara Grossman, creator of Pgh Handmade Hearts. This event is open to everyone of all ages; since sharp needles are involved, we ask that young children be accompanied by an adult. While some fine motor ability is required, needle-felting can be more accessible for those with shaky hands or arthritis than other types of detail-oriented sewing or crafting. All materials will be provided. Join us at the Jewish Community Center in the 10.27 Healing Partnership suite (Room 316, third floor) from 11am-1pm.
Please register below so that we can make sure we have another materials for everyone!
