Knowledge & Nosh: Women’s Lunch Break to Educate

Tuesday, February 4 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, the National Council of Jewish Women and the Jewish Women’s Foundation present:

Creating a More Equitably Shared Society in Israel Through Education

Featuring Sarah Kreimer
Director of External Relations & Resource Development at Beit Berl College

Drinks & dessert will be provided.
Please bring your own brown bag lunch.

For over 40 years, Pittsburgher Sarah Kreimer has been working in Israel to improve relations between Jewish and Arab citizens, mostly through community and economic ventures. In this talk, Sarah Kreimer, Director of External Relations & Resource Development at Beit Berl College, will discuss how the educational system in Israel can be a fulcrum for change, especially for young women. Israel’s demography is changing and today Israel falls behind in international achievement tests because of the deep rifts and inequalities among disparate populations. Beit Berl College trains 20% of Israel’s teachers, and sees higher education as a vehicle for social mobility.
