Series Topics

July 13: “The Temple Mount is in Our Hands!”
The tensions & dramas leading up to the Liberation of Jerusalem.

August 10: The Golan Heights
The heroic history of the Golan Heights, focusing on 1967, 1973 as well as swinging the lens back to ancient times.

Topic for September 14: “Unetaneh Tokef” – “Who by Fire”?
The power of one song to change a country. In light of the Yom Kippur War, deep disturbing questions penetrated the Israeli psyche; and Kibbutz Beit Hashita became the site from which a deep reflective existential journey developed. Being that the words of the song are taken from the High Holiday Liturgy, this session is very timely for the week before Rosh Hashana.

October 12: Visions of Redemption
A virtual tour of the ancient dreamers of Tzfat and the rebellious visionaries of the Kibbutz movement.

November 9: When the Baron, the King, and the Astronaut Meet
A virtual tour of the coast of Israel with a focus on Caeserea and Zichron Yaakov; and a jump to the Negev Desert too.

December 14: In the Footsteps of the Maccabees
This virtual tour will take us in the footsteps of the Maccabean rebellion from Modi’in to Gush Etzion; through the Judean Lowlands and onto Jerusalem.
