Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) is all about inclusiveness—and if you have a story to share about disAbility,* we want to feature YOU in this year’s JDAIM festivities.
What do YOU want everyone to know? Tell a brief (five-minute or less) story with the theme of disAbility at our “Moth”-like storytelling event, hosted by Alan Olifon of “Moth” Pittsburgh storyslam fame. If desired, work with Alan to develop and refine your story. (You can also submit a five-sentence mini-story to be read anonymously by Alan between acts.) If you haven’t shared your story yet about how disAbility has touched your life—this is your chance! Please contact Lisa Lederer at email@example.com by January 31.
*Advocates often spell “disAbility” with the “A” capitalized, to recognize the fact that what is called a “disAbility” is not unequivocally negative but may in fact foster strengths.
