A Two-Part Gathering to Commemorate 10/27/2018 for Pittsburgh’s Young Adult Community
Hosted by: Chabad Young Professionals, OneTable, Moishe House, Repair the World and the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation.
Please join us as we come together at the virtual table to commemorate the tragic events of October 27, 2018 with an eye towards the future. We’ll provide a safe space to memorialize the lives lost, to celebrate diversity, equality, and inclusion, and to continue building the beautifully supportive young adult community that we have here in Pittsburgh.
On Thursday 10/22
We’ll hear from young adult leaders in the community, explore ritual and create together as we prepare for our own Shabbat experiences the following day.
On Friday 10/23
For the second part of our commemorative gathering, we hope you’ll join us in hosting your own Shabbat dinners to reflect, observe, take action, or memorialize on your own terms. To help elevate your Shabbat experience and connect us in a tangible way, we’re giving Shabbat kits (additional details below) to the first 60 people who register. Additional kits may become available, but cannot be guaranteed so register early to get a kit.
Everyone is welcome – whether you’re a new face in our city or have lived here your whole life! Please register to receive the Zoom link to join us at the virtual table on Thursday.
*For those who are eligible, OneTable is happy to support your Shabbat dinners on their platform to provide additional resources. If you’re looking to host your own Shabbat dinner or find a seat at an open #TATT Shabbat table on Friday, please register with OneTable.
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SHABBAT KITS
On Wednesday 10/21
Shabbat kits will be available for pick up on October 21 from 11:30 to 1:30pm at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and in the evening from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the home of Chabad Young Professionals.
Shabbat kit pick up arrangements will follow all social distancing guidelines and you must wear a mask. Please arrive during your scheduled pickup window to ensure that everyone receives their kits in a safe and timely manner.
We will send more detailed pick-up instructions closer to the event. Kits will be sufficient for two people and include a craft that we will do together during the event. Don’t worry if you don’t get a kit! You can still participate simply using a piece of paper and your own coloring supplies.
