Gefsky Community Scholar Rabbi Danny Schiff

Mondays at 9:30 AM, Oct. 24 - May 15, 2023.

The Gefsky Community Scholar position is endowed by the H. Arnold and Adrien B. Gefsky Endowment Fund of the Federation’s Jewish Community Foundation.

MONDAYS at 9:30 AM, Oct. 24 – May 15, 2023.

Understanding the Torah and what it asks of us is perhaps one of the most important things a Jew can learn. But most Torah classes begin in Genesis and never finish the first book. If you want a comprehensive overview of the whole Torah, this is the course for you.

In the first year of this two-year course, Rabbi Schiff will teach Genesis, Exodus, and the first half of Leviticus. In the second year, he will complete Leviticus and cover Numbers and Deuteronomy. Rarely offered, this is a great opportunity to get a systematic understanding of Judaism’s foundational text.
