SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Pride Mission to Israel
DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Federations of North America’s 2025 LGBTQ+ Pride Mission to Israel will gather North American LGBTQ+ Jewish\, civic leaders and allies for a transformative experience that will deepen participants’ relationship to Israel’s past\, present\, and future. During this mission\, North American LGBTQ+ leaders will engage with Israel and its LGBTQ+ community. Participants will learn about the diversity of Israeli society and the work being done to advance LGBTQ+ equality and combat homophobia and transphobia. Specifically\, this trip will focus on Israel post-October 7th and the resiliency of the Israeli LGBTQ+ community. \nThe Jewish Federations’ Center for Jewish Belonging supports Jewish life in creating a culture of belonging for all Jews and our loved ones while building bridges across socially and culturally diverse communities. This initiative ensures that an increasing number of people see themselves reflected in our organizational leadership and that they are part of our collective efforts on behalf of the Jewish people. \nRegistration deadline is May 1. \nMission Details\nDuring this trip\, leaders will: \n\nTake Part in Israel’s LGBTQ+ Life and Community: Speak with Israeli LGBTQ+ organizations\, including local pride centers\, educational programs\, and networks that support the trans community\, youth\, women\, etc.\nLearn about Israel Today: Meet with LGBTQ+ elected officials and others leading the fight for equality\nHonor October 7: Learn from those directly impacted by October 7\, including LGBTQ+ Emergency Grant recipients and how the LGBTQ+ community is uniquely resilient in this new era of uncertainty\nCompare Notes: Share best practices from the U.S. and learn how Israelis are dealing with issues including antisemitism\, transphobia\, racial discrimination\, violence\, religious extremism and other challenges.\n\nMission Cost\nCost per person in a double room: $750\nCost per person in a single room: $1\,500 \nNote: Currently\, El Al is flying nonstop from North America to Israel. United and Delta have also resumed nonstop flights to Israel\, but we are unable to confirm if they will continue those flights. We strongly recommend flying with El Al if possible. You are responsible for booking your own flights to and from Israel and arranging ground transportation to and from the hotel. Jewish Federations will arrange all other travel during the mission.
