SUMMARY:Explore & Engage Your Jewish Path
DESCRIPTION:The Federation is proud to partner with OpenDor Media – Unpacked for Educators and our community’s Jewish youth serving organizations to offer a meaningful afternoon for teens\, including a teen-only learning session and a Resource Fair that parents are also invited to attend. \nThis Afternoon’s Opportunities\nOur Story\, Our Future: Exploring Your Connection to Israel \nPresented in partnership with OpenDor Media – Unpacked for Educators led by Alex Harris\, Senior Educator and Projects & Partnerships Lead \nIn this dynamic\, interactive session\, teens will explore their personal connection to Israel and Jewish peoplehood through a creative vision board activity. Teens will reflect on the ideas\, values\, and narratives that shape their relationship with Israel and express them visually\, drawing from a wide range of Jewish thought and perspectives. \nAbout the Facilitator\n \nAlex Harris brings deep expertise in Judaic studies\, curriculum design\, and student engagement. Before joining Unpacked for Educators\, he worked in conflict education at The iCenter for Israel Education. He holds a master’s in education and human development from George Washington University\, a Bachelor’s in Judaic Studies and International Studies from the University of Michigan\, and received semicha from Rabbi Brovender. \nAlex is a member of the Ohr Torah Interfaith Center’s International Interfaith Diplomacy Fellowship\, meeting and learning with religious leaders around the world. He was recognized by Jewish Chicago—JUF and YLD’s “36 Under 36” for his leadership and volunteerism\, and his writing has appeared in Tradition Magazine\, The Tel Aviv Review of Books\, and The Washington Institute for Near East Policy. At Unpacked for Educators\, Alex leads major initiatives and partnerships with federations and educational organizations\, develops Judaism Unpacked content\, and supports schools and educators nationwide—especially in Chicago. \nTeen Resource Fair\nImmediately following the learning session\, teens and parents are invited to explore a vibrant Teen Resource Fair featuring local Jewish programs\, leadership opportunities\, engagement\, education\, and travel opportunities\, and community resources. This fair offers teens and parents the chance to discover new pathways for involvement\, meet inspiring organizations\, and find meaningful ways to stay connected throughout the year. \nSundae Bar and Silent Raffles!\nCome enjoy a Bruester’s Sundae bar and win prizes like Pirates tickets\, gift cards\, airpods and adult Legos at our silent raffles! SUMMARY:Come Curious. Leave Wiser.
DESCRIPTION:This new series\, developed by the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh\, invites participants to go beyond the headlines through dialogue and multiple perspectives featuring leading voices and meaningful community discussion. The series is grounded in the belief that the antidote to polarization is not disengagement\, but deeper\, more informed engagement. Participants will be encouraged to challenge one another\, remain open to perspectives that differ from or directly oppose their own and practice respectful\, curious conversation. Through a dynamic mix of live panel discussions\, documentary and feature film screenings\, interactive workshops and facilitated dialogue\, participants will move beyond headlines toward a more nuanced understanding of Israel and the questions it raises today. There will be three sessions in the spring and three in the fall.

SUMMARY:Leadership Cohort Breakfast Session-Come Curious. Leave Wiser.
DESCRIPTION:The Leadership Development Cohort offers a meaningful opportunity to invest in the professional growth\, resilience\, and strategic capacity of staff working across the local Jewish communal workforce. At a time when our field is navigating unparalleled complexity and challenge as well as rapid change\, this experience is intended to help professionals strengthen their ability to lead with clarity\, curiosity\, and confidence\, while building the skills needed to engage thoughtfully with colleagues\, constituents\, and community members.\nIn addition to attending all public sessions in the Come Curious\, Leave Wiser series\, cohort participants will take part in a 90-minute staff-only facilitated learning experience following each session. These follow-up gatherings will create space to go deeper into the program content and equip participants with the tools\, language\, and context needed to respond to questions about Israel and navigate challenging conversations within Jewish communal spaces. Together\, these experiences are designed to intentionally disrupt familiar echo chambers and support sustained\, trust-based dialogue.
