The Fund for Victims of Terror is Closed
A committee of community leaders has distribute every dollar to people affected by the anti-Semitic terror attack, in consultation with the three synagogues affected and the people affected. Read the full report on their work online.

Any additional money that came in and continues to come in to the Victims of Terror Fund after February 22, 2019 will be directed to psychological services, support for families, general services, reconstruction, additional security throughout the community and additional resources to help our youth process this tragic episode.

Committees within the Jewish Federation will determine how this money will be allocated in the three general categories of security, mental health and memorialization/education. The independent committee that decided the distribution of the bulk of the Victims of Terror Fund will not be involved in distributing additional money added after February 22, 2019.

Nevertheless, many new community needs have emerged since this attack.

About the Jewish Federation’s Community Campaign
The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh’s expert planning staff will assess all community needs in Pittsburgh, Israel and around the world and work with volunteer leaders to allocate money to the places and people who need it most. Jewish Community Security
The Jewish Federation’s Security Committee works with Jewish organizations to assess their needs and to pay for critical security improvements and training.

Mental Health
The Jewish Federation’s planning staff will assess needs for counseling, training, mental health and even needs that have not emerged yet. A team of experts and volunteers assesses these needs every year in a formal planning cycle.
