The Opportunity
The Database & Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping how data drives our mission. This position leads the development of reporting, dashboards, and analytics that inform executive decision-making, strengthen donor relationships, and improve fundraising performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
What You’ll Do

Lead our data and analytics strategy to help the Federation make smarter, more impactful decisions that strengthen Jewish life and community connection—locally and globally.

Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models that turn complex information into clear, actionable insights on fundraising performance, donor engagement, and campaign progress.

Develop and present forecasts and reports that help leaders allocate resources, plan strategically, and maximize our collective impact.

Collaborate with teams across Development, Finance, Marketing, and IT to align reporting, metrics, and data tools—ensuring every department speaks the same data language.

Leverage the Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies to streamline systems, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting accuracy across the organization.

Champion data governance and integrity, establishing clear standards that protect donor trust, ensure compliance, and keep information accurate and secure.

Partner with the Database Administrator to maintain system reliability, documentation, and data consistency without overlap or redundancy.

Conduct routine data audits and implement validation processes that build confidence in the numbers we use to tell our story.

Serve as the primary contact for vendors and technology partners, overseeing upgrades, integrations, and system testing to ensure smooth, coordinated operations.

Collaborate with IT and consultants to troubleshoot, enhance, and optimize system performance—helping staff work smarter, not harder.

Support the ongoing evolution of our CRM systems, from migrations to innovation initiatives that keep us ahead of the curve.

Build organization-wide capacity in data literacy, mentoring staff and empowering colleagues to use analytics confidently in their daily work.

Promote a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, where data helps us see our progress, tell our story, and expand our community impact.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
-
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or CRM administration (experience in a nonprofit or fundraising environment strongly preferred).

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Fundraising & Engagement or Sales).

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design.

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, or Flow).

Demonstrated ability to interpret and present complex data clearly for non-technical audiences.

Experience leading cross-departmental data initiatives and managing vendor or consultant relationships.

Familiarity with data privacy, governance, and compliance best practices.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills — with the ability to balance detail orientation and big-picture thinking.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data transformation and modeling within a CRM environment.

Familiarity with donor management systems and nonprofit fundraising operations.

Expertise in data visualization best practices and storytelling through analytics.

Understanding of nonprofit organizational structures and operations.
-
Relevant certification such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar credential.

Compensation
- This position has a competitive hiring range of $57,180 to $81,686, commensurate with experience.
