Educational Programs and Outreach Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
Classrooms Without Borders (CWB), part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, seeks an Educational Programs and Outreach Manager to design, market, and deliver dynamic learning experiences for educators, students, and the broader community. The Manager oversees community programs, school‑based workshops, and up to five annual domestic or international travel seminars that explore antisemitism, the Holocaust, genocide studies, human rights, Israel studies, and xenophobia. The role works closely with scholars, educators, and Federation colleagues to ensure each program is high‑impact, mission‑aligned, and evaluated for continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan, promote, and execute in‑person and virtual educational programs for schools and the community.
- Create visually engaging promotional materials, manage online registration, and maintain website and newsletter updates.
- Coordinate visiting scholars, professional development workshops, and conference presentations (state, regional, and national).
- Recruit, prepare, and staff 4–5 annual experiential travel seminars; manage participant contracts, logistics, and alumni engagement.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
- Cultivate relationships with educators, scholars, community partners, and regional coordinators in Youngstown, Cleveland, and Sarasota.
- Support website backend, grant writing and reporting, annual dinner, impact report, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in history, political science, sociology, religious studies, education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of classroom teaching or educational programming experience, ideally within a school or nonprofit setting.
- Subject‑matter expertise in antisemitism, Holocaust and genocide studies, human rights, Israel studies, and xenophobia.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and project‑management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to design and deliver in‑person, virtual, and travel‑based educational experiences.
- Proficiency with WordPress, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Formstack, Canva, and Zoom; ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision, including evenings, Sundays, and up to three 14‑day travel seminars per year; ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
COMPENSATION
This position has a competitive hiring range of $50,000 to $ 60,000 a year, commensurate with experience.
