Where Do I Begin?

Riverview TowersI was trying to think about what I should write about this week. Should it be about the high level Federation Board informational meetings we are holding to delve into the approximate $17 Million in tax credits Riverview Towers has been granted? Should I write about the fact that a group of Israeli teens from Karmiel and Misgav arrived today to Pittsburgh and will be campers at Emma Kaufmann Camp starting next week? Could I write about the Past Chairs of the Federation who met this week to not only hear from Meryl Ainsman, our current Chair, about what is happening but also to give their own input? Should I talk about the meeting of professionals from several organizations that focus on young adult engagement that we convened to help us all work together even better than we do already? What about writing about the Jewish Community Health Plan Trustees meeting where talented professionals and volunteers are working with our brokers to best position important benefits for those who work in and for our Jewish community?

That paragraph above contains only a small handful of the things that went on at or through the Federation this week. It is a stunning in both its breadth of activity and its reach. That is Federation! It is what makes being involved with this organization exciting, impactful and meaningful.

None of what Federation does could happen without our amazingly talented, hardworking and friendly staff. I want to thank them for all they do and for juggling so many diverse balls at one time.

Shabbat Shalom!
