2019 Kristallnacht Commemoration: Etty

Program is free and open to the public!

For Kristallnacht 2019, the Holocaust Center is pleased to present the one-woman, one-act play “Etty” by Susan Stein. “Etty” is based off of the diaries and writings of Etty Hillesum, a young Jewish woman living in Amsterdam in 1941. Immediately following the performance will be a talk-back session with Susan Stein and Holocaust scholar Dr. Michael Berenbaum.

Online registration for is now closed, but walk-ins will be welcome at the door at the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall!

7:10 PM – Doors to Carnegie Library Lecture Hall Open
7:30 PM – Program Begins

6:30 PM – Optional community-wide Havdalah and candlelight walk-through of the “Lest We Forget” exhibit, in coordination with Hillel JUC, will precede the Kristallnacht program and begin at 6:30 pm. We will meet at the Cathedral of Learning Patio, S. Bellefield Street side, for Havdalah and the walk-through. No formal registration required, but please email csahovey@hcpgh.org if you plan to attend!
