Every year the 10.27 Healing Partnership invites the community to participate in volunteering events in honor of those who were killed on October 27, 2018. There are opportunities for in-person and online participation, events that are nearby and others that are a bit of a drive, and experiences for those of all ages and abilities.

This year the volunteering events include:
Jewish Cemetery Clean-Up at Beth Israel Cemetery w/ JCBA
Sweep the concrete lanes and walkways, rake leaves, remove dirt from headstones, and perform other duties to spruce up these sacred grounds.
Crafting Hearts for Kindness
Create needle-felted hearts to either decorate the Oct. 27th commemoration ceremony or to deliver to friends, family, loves ones, neighbors or strangers as an act of random kindness and care.
Voter Registration
In honor of Mel Wax, z”l, we invite community members to do their part to increase voter registration and participation in civic life and democracy.
Welcoming Immigrant Families w/ JFCS
Join Jewish Family and Community Services in sorting donations and creating warm letters and posters to welcome new immigrant and refugee families to Pittsburgh.
Remember Me Rose Garden
Join in community with the Shanksville Flight 93 remembrance community in trailwork and maintenance around the Kavod Garden, a peaceful place of reflection and Jewish prayer for those killed on 9/11.
Connection and Creation w/ Friendship Circle
Prepare for Friendship Circle’s annual community-wide event, Walk4Friendship; create decor to give back to Friendship Circle Moms; and send cards to our friends in Israel.
Blood Drive
The blood drive will be facilitated by Vitalant and will take place at the Squirrel Hill JCC. This event is in memory of Dan Stein and Irving Younger, z’’l.
