The Gefsky Community Scholar position is endowed by the H. Arnold and Adrien B. Gefsky Endowment Fund of the Federation’s Jewish Community Foundation.

In this election year, immigration is a central issue.

But what does Jewish law have to say on the subject? Given that the Torah bids us to “love the stranger”, is unfettered immigration the Jewish ideal, or is a more restrictive approach warranted?
