During this talk Dr. Laura Levitt will present on her project for the inaugural Fine Fellowship, which centers around gifts visitors brought to the site of the Pittsburgh synagogue and the George Floyd Global Memorial in Minneapolis. Her project explores how people individually and collectively grieve after mass, public tragedies. Her talk will illustrate how the memorial items at the George Floyd and October 27th memorials, when viewed together, can teach us about racism and antisemitism.
