Straddling Black and White by Kim SalzmanThe story follows a teenage girl who takes part in the mass immigration of Ethiopian Jewry to Israel in the 1980’s, and the struggles and complexities she faces once there. Salzman’s fictionalized account was inspired by her work at the Jewish Federation with Ethiopian Jewish immigrants in Israel.
