Student to Student (STS)

Real Teens. Real Stories. Real Impact.

Student to Student (STS) is a nationally recognized teen leadership program that empowers Pittsburgh-area Jewish high school students to use their voices, build confidence and push back against antisemitism through real, honest conversations.

This isn’t a lecture.
This isn’t a history class.
This is peer‑to‑peer storytelling—authentic, bold and powerful.

What STS is All About

In STS, Jewish teens team up to share what Judaism looks like in everyday life—your traditions, your experiences, your identity, your story. You’ll learn how to open minds, challenge assumptions and replace stereotypes with human connection.

Through hands-on training, you’ll build skills in:

  • Public Speaking
  • Storytelling
  • Respectful, Brave Conversation
  • Responding to Bias and Misinformation
  • Leadership and Communication

Then you’ll take these skills into the community—visiting local schools and speaking directly with non‑Jewish peers. Your voice becomes the bridge that builds understanding.

Why It Matters

Today’s world needs more curiosity, more empathy and more young leaders willing to speak up.

STS gives you the tools to:

  • Stand strong against antisemitism
  • Build confidence that lasts through college and beyond
  • Create real change one classroom at a time
  • Help your peers see Judaism through a human lens—not headlines or stereotypes

STS is non-political and non-religious in instruction—just real conversations led by real teens.

A Nationally Trusted Program

Founded more than 30 years ago in St. Louis, Student to Student has grown into a national initiative used by Jewish communities across the country.

Its mission is simple and powerful:

  • Support Jewish teens.
  • Educate non‑Jewish peers.
  • Build safer, stronger communities.
