Regarding January 27, 2023 Terror Attacks in Jerusalem

May their memories be for a blessing.

We are devasted by the horrific attack in Jerusalem this past Shabbat where a Palestinian terrorist killed seven civilians outside a synagogue. The following day in front of the entrance to the City of David in Jerusalem, a father and son were shot on their way home from synagogue. At a time when the world commemorated 78 years since the liberation of Auschwitz, Jews were killed for being Jews.

We remember and acknowledge the victims of this heinous act:

Rafael Ben Eliyahu, 56

Shaul Hai, 68

Irina Korolova, 59

Eli Mizrahi, 48

Natali Mizrahi, 45

Asher Natan, 14

Ilya Sosansky, 26

May their memories be a blessing.

Three others who were injured in the attack remain hospitalized. We wish them a refuah shlema (a complete and speedy recovery).

Federation is a proud supporter of the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Fund for Victims of Terror. Professionals from the Jewish Agency’s Emergency Response Team were on the ground providing immediate financial assistance and emotional support to the victims of terror and their families.

Antisemitism continues to be on the rise at home, in Israel, and across the globe. We remain committed to working towards a future where Jews feel safe and proud to be openly Jewish. We stand in solidarity with our Jewish family, wherever they are. Am Israel Chai.
