Pakistani national Muhammad Shahzeb Kham, also known as Shahzeb Jadoon, has pled guilty to “attempting to commit acts of terrorism and carry out a mass shooting with automatic weapons” that was planned for October 7, 2024. The attempted attack was to take place at a prominent Jewish center in Brooklyn, New York and was inspired by ISIS. Six individuals were arrested on Monday, March 30, for Federal Hate Crimes and Obstruction of Justice charges pursuant to a physical assault on a Jewish PITT student in Oakland. The student was wearing a Star of David necklace and that is what allegedly prompted the assault. We will continue to update you on the status of this case. Navigating Digital Threats: Strategies to Prevent Online Child Exploitation
Thursday, July 23 @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDTAhead of the next school year, please join the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse for a virtual training on preventing and responding to online child exploitation in K-12 communities. This session will feature a panel discussion with experts from the U.S. Department of Justice and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who will share valuable tools and resources to combat online child exploitation and educate teachers, students and families.
