On Wednesday, Edward Owens, Jr. was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison pursuant to his online, antisemitic threats directed at a local public official. He was also charged with making false statements to the FBI relative to weapons possession. We are grateful for the diligent work of the FBI and US Attorney’s office and all who were involved in making this sentencing happen.
A Franklin Regional School District senior was not permitted to participate in graduation ceremonies because of an antisemitic quote that he had printed under his senior picture in their yearbook. The quote referenced a slogan commonly associated with Holocaust conspiracy theories.
