Please Be Aware
As we approach back to school, student safety is paramount. Please consider joining our free Countering Active Threat and Defensive Tactics Training on Thursday, July 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the JCC in Squirrel Hill led by Dave Wright from Wright’s Gym. This event is geared towards college and/or high school students but is open to all.
U.S. intelligence officials have determined that the Iranian government is covertly influencing American protests over the Israel-Hamas war. Potential motives are to spark outrage in American citizens prior to the Presidential election in November. The Director of National Intelligence stated accounts on social media posing as activists have ties to Iran, and these accounts have encouraged individuals to protest and/or provide financial support.
Year to date 2024, the Jewish Federation has logged 172 incidents in our Virtual Command Center. This compares to 125 year to date 2023. We remain in a heightened threat environment and are working closely with law enforcement to monitor potential threat activity. Please continue to report any suspicious incidents via the Incident Report Form.
