Please Be Aware
On Tuesday, July 23, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) security grant opened offering a possibility of $10M in grants to secure houses of worship and nonprofits that are vulnerable to hate crimes and terrorist attacks. We are grateful to our legislators for their support of this initiative that has provided the Pittsburgh Jewish community with $4.3M since 2020 to 75 of our organizations for critical security enhancements.
NJ man sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for hate crimes related to his April 2020 vehicular assaults and stabbings targeting the Orthodox Jewish community in Lakewood, NJ.
Year to date 2024, the Jewish Federation has logged 173 incidents in our Virtual Command Center. This compares to 135 year to date 2023.
