Please Be Aware
On Friday, Sept. 13, a resident of Squirrel Hill was arrested after trying to enter the Carriage House under the influence of a controlled substance. Police immediately responded, detained him, and discovered quantities of narcotics and weapons in his apartment. Please know that this conduct is not at all related to the Jewish community, it is the criminal activity of an isolated individual who is now in custody. There are no additional threats related to this. See the article below for more information.
Year to date 2024, the Jewish Federation has logged 213 incidents in our Virtual Command Center. This compares to 199 year to date 2023. We remain in a heightened threat environment and are working closely with law enforcement to monitor potential threat activity. Please continue to report any suspicious incidents via the Incident Report Form.
