Please Be Aware
The planned “Week of Rage” that called for anti-Israel protest activity is close to an end. We had several protests throughout the Oakland area and a few minor incidents of vandalism.
DHS just released its 2025 Homeland Threat Assessment that says over the next year, “the terrorism threat environment in the Homeland will remain high. We are particularly concerned about a confluence of factors this year, including violent extremist responses to domestic sociopolitical developments—especially the 2024 election cycle—and international events that domestic and foreign violent extremists likely will use to justify or encourage attacks in the Homeland. Lone offenders and small groups continue to pose the greatest threat of carrying out attacks with little to no warning.” Please see the attached report for more information Homeland Threat Assessment 2025 (dhs.gov).
We are not aware of any credible intelligence reporting indicating a threat to the region. However, remaining vigilant and situationally aware is essential.
Year to date 2024, the Jewish Federation has logged 232 incidents in our Virtual Command Center. This compares to 211 year to date 2023. We remain in a heightened threat environment and are working closely with law enforcement to monitor potential threat activity. Please continue to report any suspicious incidents via the Incident Report Form.
