Please Be Aware
The two defendants in the hate crime conspiracy to deface Chabad of Squirrel Hill and Jewish Federation had their preliminary hearing on Wednesday. The judge ordered that they remain on ankle monitors. The courtroom was packed with supporters of the defendants, some of whom refused to leave after court ended.
The elections occurred without incident, but we are continuing to monitor intelligence for potential threats. We encourage you to remain vigilant, and to report suspicious behavior or concerns to 911 and the Jewish Federation via our Incident Report Form.
Thursday evening following a Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer game in Amsterdam, Israeli fans were violently assaulted in mass antisemitic attacks. See below article for more information.
Year to date 2024, the Jewish Federation has logged 247 incidents in our Virtual Command Center. This compares to 220 year to date 2023. We remain in a heightened threat environment and are working closely with law enforcement to monitor potential threat activity. Please continue to report any suspicious incidents via the Incident Report Form.
