Security Update

From the Federation Security Team

Please Be Aware

For awareness, there is a planned protest at Schenley Plaza today, March 14th at 5 pm, part of which will include opposition to Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest by ICE and detainment for leading “activities aligned with Hamas” at Columbia University. Organized by National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP), today’s protest falls under a “day of action,” which has continued for several days. See situation report here: SCN SITUATION REPORT: Anti-Israel Groups Plan National Day of Action on 11 March.

We are hosting a PCCD Security Grant Workshop on Thursday, March 27th, from 6–7:30 pm at our Jewish Federation office. Learn the keys to success for obtaining this grant, including best practices for budgeting, narrative writing and implementation. Space is limited. Please RSVP to efagan@jfedpgh.org if you are planning to attend. For more information, please see the PCCD State Security Grant Workshop flyer.

So far in 2025, we have logged 62 incidents in our Virtual Command Center. This compares to 47 for 2024. We continue to collaborate closely with law enforcement to monitor potential threat activity. Please continue to report any suspicious incidents via the Incident Report Form.
