Tonia Caruso is an award-winning journalist who worked in Pittsburgh television for more than 25 years. Tonia began her career in local news working at KDKA-TV and WTAE-TV. Later, she joined WQED Multimedia as a reporter, host and producer, telling in-depth stories on a variety of topics pertinent to the Pittsburgh region. She also served as host of Comcast Newsmakers from 2003 to 2014.

Tonia is now the Director of Digital Content and Production for UPMC. Her team works to highlight the innovations and medical breakthroughs underway in the health system. She is a multiple Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award winner and the recipient of several Golden Quill Awards from the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania. As a lifelong Pittsburgher, Tonia first became connected to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh though her work in local news and at WQED, where she highlighted Federation programs and education efforts throughout the community.
