Humans of Israel

Wupo

Meet Wupo: The great thing about street art is that it meets people in their surroundings, and if it's good, it will actually make them stop and think about its meaning. You don't have to go to a museum in order to appreciate art. You can do that while you grab your espresso or even on your way to grocery shop.

I love the fact that I can use the walls of Florentin as my canvas. Florentin is a vast concrete jungle, and without a lot of trees and flowers, the street art that you see on the walls gives the neighborhood the colors it so desperately needs. Street art is my tribute to the city and to its people. I wish that the Tel Aviv municipality would appreciate the work that street artists do and perhaps support us in making the city brighter. I think the majority of people would prefer to see a brush of color than just a grey concrete wall.
