Israel at War: The War in the North

Virtual Event

Cost: Free

As the war in Israel continues, we recognize the importance of having a safe space to gather and would like to invite our community to our upcoming events.

Join Yaakov Selavan, head of the Golan Regional Council, to discuss the threat from Hezbollah and the situation in northern Israel.

Join your fellow Maimonides Society for an exclusive discussion with Yaakov Selavan, whose father grew up in Pittsburgh, about the threat from Hezbollah and the situation in northern Israel. Yaakov will speak followed by Q&A moderated by Dr. Allan Tissenbaum, who went to Israel shortly after the war broke out and spent time in the north. He is an international speaker on matters of leadership, security, and battle heritage.

Yaakov was a Major in the IDF reserves, Combat Operations Officer, and Heritage Officer of the famed 188th Armored Brigade. He served till February 24th down south and returned straight to the regional elections. He is an alumnus of the IDF Tactical Command College and has an MA in Public Policy from IDC Herzliya. Yaakov is the Founder of iWISH, an NGO supporting wounded IDF soldiers. He is married and the proud father of 3 little girls.
