The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh today announced $80 million in overall resource development for fiscal year 2026, its strongest year of fundraising in the organization’s history. The total is anchored by a record breaking $14.4 million raised through the Community Campaign, along with $61.1 million in new gifts added to the Jewish Community Foundation, bringing Foundation assets under management to more than $464 million.

“This community answered the call in a year that asked a great deal of it. Every commitment, at every level, is a statement of faith in our shared future. And none of it reaches the finish line without our volunteers — the community members who made the calls, hosted the gatherings and told our story on their own time. Thank you, all of you,” said Sue Berman Kress, Campaign Chair.

The campaign closed at the end of the fiscal year on June 30, powered by generosity from across the community during a year that tested it. The Federation stood behind its partners, strengthened security in Jewish spaces and pushed back against antisemitism, and when tragedy struck a Chanukah celebration in Bondi Beach, Australia, it showed up there too.

Thanks to this year’s results, the Federation was able to:

• Allocate $7.6 million to programs that nurture Jewish life, from education and senior care to security and crisis response
• Strengthen security community-wide by investigating 264 incidents and providing security training, bringing peace of mind to all who gather in Jewish spaces
• Fight antisemitism through advocacy, grassroots organizing and support for Israel and the hostages, winning local victories with national impact
• Respond within days to the federal SNAP shutdown, providing a $10,000 emergency grant to JFCS that kept kosher food on the table for 2,750 people
• Keep Karmiel and Misgav safe by funding bomb shelters that Karmiel’s mayor says have already saved lives, while Pittsburgh Loan Fund loans sustained 710 jobs through war and disruption
• Welcome new Jewish babies and engage young adults, providing hospital welcome boxes to UPMC Magee to connect new families to the Jewish community and bringing young adults together through more than 60 events
• Coordinate security for the JCC Maccabi Campus Games, welcoming nearly 2,000 teens from 90 communities in partnership with more than 20 law enforcement agencies
