The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh has named Rabbi Jamie Gibson, M.A.H.L., D.D., Emeritus Rabbi of Temple Sinai, as Chair of its Community Relations Council (CRC).

Rabbi Gibson brings more than 30 years of rabbinic leadership in Pittsburgh and more than 45 years of interfaith work. During his tenure at Temple Sinai in Squirrel Hill, he built strong relationships across religious, racial and ethnic communities throughout the region.

He holds the Rabbi Jason Edelstein Chair at St. Vincent College in Latrobe in Catholic-Jewish Dialogue, teaches undergraduate and seminary courses on interfaith engagement and serves as a Commissioner on the City of Pittsburgh Human Relations Commission.

“Rabbi Gibson has been a trusted and steady leader in interfaith and civic engagement for decades,” said David Knoll, Associate Vice President of Public Affairs at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. “His leadership strengthens the CRC’s mission of building relationships and understanding across our diverse community.”

Rabbi Gibson succeeds David Knoll, who previously served as CRC Board Chair before joining the Federation staff in January.
