Jewish Foundation Adds Over $31 Million

As you might have read in the Jewish Chronicle, our Foundation has had a historic, record-breaking year, adding over $31 million to its corpus from July 2022 through June 2023. This achievement is largely attributed to the trust donors place in the Federation’s oversight and management of their philanthropic contributions. While the noteworthy financial accomplishment is cause for celebration, what truly inspires me is the unwavering confidence shown by our generous supporters.

Speaking of the Foundation, there is an exciting new opportunity that could prove beneficial to some of you. I have invited our Chief Development Officer/Senior VP, Brian Eglash, to provide an explanation:

The Torah imparts to us the value of giving back to our community. The Jewish Community Foundation of the Federation operates a charitable gift annuity program, enabling you to receive income while contributing to our vision of a thriving Jewish community where everyone feels included, supported, and inspired. With a unique one-time opportunity available to those aged 70 ½ and above, establishing a charitable gift annuity has never been more appealing. The recently introduced individual retirement account (IRA) tax-free rollover program allows you to establish a gift annuity with a maximum contribution of $50,000 from your IRA. This not only fulfills your required minimum distribution (RMD) but also provides you with lifetime cash payments, all without immediate income tax implications. Numerous compelling reasons make this an avenue worth considering. While highlighting the above opportunity, I always like to connect philanthropy our Federation facilitates to the impact our organization has. In 2016, our Federation established our Jewish Community Security program. As you probably saw yesterday, white supremacist Hardy Lloyd was apprehended on federal charges. This happened through a collaboration of our Federation security team, the Secure Community Network, the US Attorney’s Office, and the FBI. You can read more about it in jewishchronicle.com. Thank you for powering this critical communal function. We couldn’t do it without you!

Shabbat Shalom.
