There are thousands of moving stories regarding the strategic support and impact of our Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh (along with the other 145 throughout North America) for wartime Israel. As a proud member of the Jewish Federations of North America Israel Emergency Response Committee charged with allocating our collective emergency dollars, I want to share the story of just one allocation we approved this past week.
Yad Sarah is a well-established, well-run nonprofit in Israel. I’ve visited their headquarters in Jerusalem on many occasions, and they do important work for Israeli society. When Yad Sarah needed additional supplies recently, they encountered a transportation issue caused by Houthi terrorists. Our Federations stepped in to help solve the problem.
