Dr. Kerry Wallach will deliver the inaugural Edith Balas Memorial Lecture. Her talk, “Recovering the Lost Worlds of Jewish Artist Rahel Szalit,” will focus on her process of rediscovering Rahel Szalit (1888–1942), one of the best-known Jewish women artists in Weimar Germany whose work was largely forgotten in the wake of the Holocaust.
