On February 24, 2022 when war erupted in Ukraine, entire lives were uprooted, and people are still displaced. As the devastating situation rages on, the Jewish people of Ukraine still need our help. The shifting needs of Ukrainian Jews now include mental health support, food and financial support for displaced individuals. Our Global Partners, the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), and World ORT are able to provide this support to Ukraine’s Jewish community because of your support for the Community Campaign. Because of your support, people like Alona continue to receive aid. Alona gets rent assistance in Poltava and therapy for her son, and she finds a sense of purpose by volunteering at Poltava's Hesed social welfare center.
