Tikkun Leil Shavuot ONLINE This Year

I get so excited every year when the Federation can start to market what I believe is one of the most special, unique, and unifying events in our annual Jewish community calendar. The community wide Tikkun Leil Shavuot has traditionally taken place at the JCC on the evening of Shavuot allowing anyone to come in and observe the holiday in the traditional way of all-night Jewish study. What makes ours in Pittsburgh so extraordinary is that it breaks down all our communal boundaries. The teachers and the participants come from all walks of Jewish life: all the movements, different forms of observance, all ages, and all levels of Jewish knowledge.

We know we cannot get together in person this year so in place of our typical program, we are holding this year’s Tikkun the night before (Wednesday, May 27th ) Shavuot begins. This allows everyone the ability to participate. Check out the incredible lineup of online classes available. You can also pre-register to ensure your spot in the classes you want.

The Federation expresses deep appreciation to all the teachers for making their wisdom available to the broad Jewish community. This, once again, shows how working together, we accomplish so much more.

Shabbat Shalom. Stay safe and healthy as our region moves into the Yellow Phase.
