The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh welcomes the recent arrests of suspects allegedly responsible for the acts of antisemitic graffiti and vandalism targeting our office building, Chabad of Squirrel Hill, and several Jewish homes across Pittsburgh. These incidents are a stark reminder of the challenges facing the Jewish community amid a recent rise in antisemitic acts.
“In the past year, the Pittsburgh Jewish community has faced a troubling increase in antisemitism,” said Jeffrey Finkelstein, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. “This month, as we marked the sixth anniversary of the attack at the Tree of Life building, the deadliest antisemitic incident in U.S. history, our community remains acutely aware of the need for vigilance. This recent attack on our institutions and homes underscores the importance of the Federation’s work in enhancing security and fostering resilience across our community.”
The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh extends our gratitude to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for their diligence and collaboration in identifying and investigating those allegedly responsible. We remain committed to countering hate and creating a safer environment for all Pittsburgh residents.
