“The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is deeply concerned by the submission of signatures by Not On Our Dime for the proposed referendum, which seeks to advance the discriminatory and divisive Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) agenda in our city. We believe this initiative is misleading, legally flawed and harmful to Pittsburgh’s values of inclusivity and cooperation.
“We will take all appropriate action to challenge this referendum, and we thank the Beacon Coalition for reviewing the validity of the submitted signatures. Additionally, in collaboration with StandWithUs, we are exploring all legal avenues to oppose this referendum, which unfairly targets the Jewish community and seeks to isolate Israel rather than foster meaningful dialogue and peace.
“Pittsburgh has always been a place where people of diverse backgrounds come together to support one another. We stand with our community, our elected officials and all those who reject efforts to sow division. The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh remains steadfast in its commitment to fighting antisemitism, promoting constructive engagement and ensuring that our city continues to reflect the values of inclusion and unity.”
