We are in a heightened threat environment and are working in close collaboration with law enforcement to monitor potential threat activity.

There have been several incidents of antisemitic graffiti this week in the Squirrel Hill area as well as Summerset Park.

Today we commemorate five years since the attack at the Tree of Life building that violently took 11 lives from our Jewish community.

The attack on Israel by Hamas has created a heightened threat tempo for our domestic Jewish organizations. There are no known specific threats to our community at this time.

While there are no known threats to the Pittsburgh Jewish community, there are two legitimate media reports to be aware of.

Law enforcement cautions that hoax bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting Jewish organizations across the country will continue throughout Yom Kippur.

There have now been 49 synagogues in 13 states evacuated due to hoax bomb threats in the past two months.

Remember to practice excellent situational awareness and vigilance during this High Holiday season.

On Aug 30th, Hardy Lloyd was ordered to be detained by a federal judge out of the Northern District of West Virginia.

Fortunately, we have seen a lull in the swatting campaigns targeting multiple synagogues across the country.

The defendant in the largest antisemitic attack in US history was formally sentenced to death yesterday after a long and arduous trial.

The penalty phase of the synagogue shooting trial is underway.

Please Be Aware Monday will start the third and final phase of the synagogue shooting trial, the penalty phase. The government will present several days of testimony, largely victim impact statements, followed by approximately one week of defense witnesses.
